Artist Statement

I believe my art should be visually pleasing, intellectually intriguing,
technically stunning, and sometimes humorously entertaining.

My concept of "Mixed Media" embraces a mix of processes as
well as materials. In creating a new work I am often a
photographer, digital artist, illustrator, painter, art quilter,
mosaic artist and collage artist. The natural world gives us so
many textures to capture or reflect light - I love balancing
and contrasting many of them in a piece.

Most of my compositions are inspired by perspectives from the
natural world, often in macro (up-close) views. Although every now
and then I diverge into geometrics, abstracts, and architecture.

I love the versatility of fabric as my base medium. The vast variety
of types and styles allows for infinite combinations of visual
and tactile textural variety. Adding other media to this base
brings contrast to the fabrics' natural warmth.

Some of my pieces are intricately sewn using advanced techniques,
others are fused collage with top-stitching, painting, drawing, wire
sculpture, tile work, beading or other embellishments.

By approaching fabric from a mixed media viewpoint, rather than
traditional needlework, I hope to introduce art lovers to the
magic of fabric as an emerging fine art medium.

Returns

Due to the risk and cost involved in shipping artwork, please
try to be certain about your purchase prior to ordering. I am
happy to send you more photos and information about a
piece to aid in your decision.

All of my customers so far have found that the item they
received was more intricate and pleasing than the photos
on the website could convey.

However, if you feel you must return an item, I accept returns
for a full refund within 45 days of the original purchase date.
Returned artwork must be well packaged (in the original wrapping
would be best) and shipped with Delivery Tracking and Insurance.
I will issue a refund in full upon receipt of the returned artwork.

Your refund is dependent upon my receipt of the returned
package, so Delivery Tracking and Insurance are critical - if a
package is lost during return without insurance, I cannot issue
the refund. I appreciate your care in the handling of my artwork.
